Another weekend means more time spent tracking down what is new and coming into the housing market in the Katy, TX area. This weekend as I was out and about, I saw dirt moving at the King Crossing site, a 320 acre neighborhood being developed by Beazer & Pulte Homes. Located near Katy-Hockley Cutoff & Stockdick School Road, this development will feature homes starting in the upper $100s up to $300k. With floor plans ranging from 1,400-4,000 square feet, this development is meant to target the many mid-level buys wanting to move up into the Katy area. The explosive growth in South Katy/Fort Bend has left little to choose from when looking to purchase a new home for under $300,000. This neighborhood will offer many options for buyers looking for just that. King Crossing will also offer many community features such as a recreation center with swimming pool, pocket parks, a dog park, and walking trails along the residential lakes. Students who live in King Crossing will be zoned to Katy High School. Sources with King Crossing anticipate to open model homes in the Spring of 2015.
